In this role, you will combine your design expertise and front-end development skills to create exceptional user experiences. From conceptualizing frameworks and mock-ups in Figma to implementing responsive, high-performance code, you will play a pivotal role in shaping intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for our products.The ideal candidate should have a strong portfolio of UX/UI design work, hands-on experience with front-end technologies, and a passion for blending creativity with technical precision. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement frameworks for intuitive, user-friendly end-user interfaces.
  • Create interactive mock-ups, wireframes, and prototypes using Figma to visualize and refine design concepts.
  • Create and maintain design systems to ensure consistency across products.
  • Perform front-end development tasks, including converting designs into executable software using languages such as Java, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML/CSS, C++, or Go.
  • Collaborate with technical leads to decompose and translate user feedback into design solutions.
  • Ensure designs are responsive, accessible, and optimized for various devices and browsers.
  • Optimize front-end code for performance and scalability.
  • Integrate front-end interfaces with back-end systems and APIs.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues in both design and code to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Participate in functionality testing and code reviews to ensure quality and usability.
  • Develop extensive documentation to capture and outline work completed, including design processes, frameworks, and development steps.
  • Stay updated on the latest UX/UI design trends, tools, and technologies to enhance user experience strategies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, testers, and designers, to deliver high-quality interfaces.

QualificationsEducation/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (BSCS)
  • 3-5+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design and front-end development, preferably in a mid-to-senior role.
  • Certifications in UX/UI design or front-end development (e.g., NN/g, Google UX Design).
  • Must be able to acquire a Secret Clearance or higher.

Experience:

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and/or Adobe XD
  • Understanding of how data flows through a modern web application.
  • Strong front-end development skills in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and frameworks and libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing UX/UI design work, including wireframes, prototypes, and final implementations.
  • Knowledge of usability and accessibility standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and explain design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Windows based computer systems
  • Computer, phone, and basic office materials

Working Environment:

  • This work is completed in an office environment but could include outdoor fielding and various customer locations.
  • May require attendance in our Software Integration Lab located in Ashland, VA.
  • Must be able to travel to customer sites to support cybersecurity testing events.
