Job description: The Business Development Capture Manager will be responsible for identifying key pursuits that align with the business strategic plans and initiatives, specifically with the DOD, NASA, commercial, and international business organizations.Primary Responsibilities:

  • The primary responsibilities will be to coordinate and lead targeted growth pursuits (both OE and aftermarket), build customer relationships, identify new opportunities, and win new business.
  • Additional responsibilities include market analysis, strategic development, managing the execution of the strategy, and monitoring progress toward organizational objectives.
  • Work with engineering, business operations, and program management teams to develop and gain buy-in for technical solutions, cost and schedule estimates, and pricing recommendations for new business opportunities
  • Author and lead winning proposals coordinating and integrating input and contributions from small to medium-sized, cross-functional team
  • Grow a relationship network with government, university, and industry partners to inform new business pursuits, gain key customer insights, and build trust

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Understanding of military and government procurement processes
  • Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, Engineering, or other related field and 7 years of relevant experience OR
  • Advance degree and 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong leadership skills, excellent communication (presentation, written, and verbal), and relationship building skills
  • Project management skills to include cost estimating, requirements development and management, and scheduling
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder with the ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic planning, engineering or business development
  • 5+ years of recent experience with opportunity capture specific to the U.S. DOD across multiple services
  • 2+ year of experience working on government proposals, including direct technical writing contributions
  • Specific experience in the development of engineered life support and thermal control systems and hardware for NASA or DOD programs
  • Engineering degree and/or at least 2 years of experience developing, building, or operating space or military systems
  • Network of contacts in the civil space government and aerospace industry
  • Robust knowledge of U.S. civil space/NASA program portfolio, priorities, culture, and organization
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business development processes, pursuit development, proposals and negotiations
  • Acquisition experience with U.S. Armed Forces, National Guard, procurement, or similar government entities
  • 5+ years’ experience using JAMIS Prime or similar CRM to actively manage a portfolio of many accounts and associated opportunities
  • Practical understanding of product development, technology transitioning, and marketing/product planning for US military applications or space applications
  • Knowledge of conducting and directing competitive product analysis using market research techniques and a solid technical understanding of service/agency needs and requirements
