Job description: Description:Position Summary:The Federal Programs Finance Specialist plays a key role in providing administrative support to the district’s federal programs department and maintaining accurate financial records for federal funds. - Associates degree
- Three years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping
- Fingerprint clearance with the Alabama State Department of Education prior to the start date
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries regarding federal programs and financial matters in a professional manner
- Assist in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of financial records for all federal program grants and funding in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for federal programs using accounting software
- Assist with the coordination and filing of required reports related to federal program funding and expenditures
- Prepare and submit requisitions, purchase orders, and payment requests related to federal program expenditures
- Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments, maintaining accurate records of all transactions
- Maintain payroll records for employees funded through federal programs, ensuring accuracy in timekeeping and expense allocation
- Assist in tracking and monitoring federal program budgets to ensure compliance with spending limits and reporting deadlines
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical files related to federal program compliance, audits, and other related documentation
- Manage and respond to email correspondence related to federal programs and distribute information as needed
- Provide administrative support for meetings and events related to federal programs, including preparing agendas and taking minutes
- Assist with ordering and maintaining supplies for the federal programs department
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and program-related information
- Collaborate with district personnel, vendors, and external agencies to ensure the efficient operation of federal programs
- Performs other duties as assigned by school administrators and district administrators

Expected salary: $44661 – 54441 per year
