The QA Floor Inspector works in a responsive fast paced manufacturing environment supporting the daily production of powder, performs, verifies quality checks, and upholds compliance with cGMP. Also, responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of products produced.This position contributes to the maintenance of the highest quality in our deliverables through monitoring compliance and enforcement of quality procedures and policies.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsNellson Nutraceutical, llc does not intend the list below as comprehensive and exclusive.   • Performs tasks in accord with Nellson Nutraceutical’s policies, procedures, local, state and federal laws.
  • Sustains the work areas as safe, clean, organized in compliance with all SOPs, cGMP, and safety rules and regulations.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures and maintains regular work attendance.
  • Enforces and monitors compliance to cGMP, FSSC, HACCP based on SOPs.
  • Provides support to the manufacturing facility for any quality related issues.
  • Reviews Production Job Orders submitted by packaging department and logs in releases in the computer system.
  • Performs packaging line and blender room audits.
  • Reviews and releases blending batch records.
  • Pull batch samples.
  • Verifies manual changes made in the Production Job Orders and blending batch records.
  • Issues QA Hold for nonconforming blend, Finished Good, raw material or packaging component.
  • Prepares, issues, and processes Green Sheets for reprocess or rework of nonconforming blend or Finished Good.
  • Performs ATP swabs of blending equipment and filling equipment when required.
  • Performs daily verification of ICON ATP machine, as assigned.
  • Collects monthly data for FSSC reports.
  • Check and record temperatures of the refrigerators.
  • Verifies metal detector log books.
  • Verifies cleaning equipment log books.
  • Reviews and releases blending batch records.
  • Performs bottle blow molding inspection and release.
  • Will work flexible hours, overtime, Saturdays if needed.
  • Performs the following back up duties:
  • Samples raw materials.
  • Performs Finished Goods sensory evaluation, release, and final review.

○ Releases labels and packaging components.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES:As necessary, performs other related functions of which the above are representativeESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:Prior Quality Assurance or manufacturing experienceAbility to write simple correspondenceBasic mathematical skillsMust be able to respond to verbal and written instructionsPhysical ability to repetitively reach, lift, stand, climb, bend, etc… within a manufacturing environmentKnowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to one (1) year experience in Quality Assurance function in a manufacturing environment.Must be at least 18 years of age.High School Diploma or GED equivalent.Basic math skills.Effective written communication skills, including legibility.Strong attention to detail.SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Must be computer literate. Must be detailed oriented and organized. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must be able to communicate and interface on all levels. Must have legible handwriting. Must be able to do basic Math calculations with and without the use of a calculator. Must be familiar with the use of a computer terminal.REASONING ABILITY:Able to identify quality issues, collect data, relevant facts and draw a valid conclusion.COMPETENCIES:Possesses good interpersonal and team oriented skills. A QA floor inspector should be able to relate well with coworkers and communicates effectively.Demonstrates integrity in the performance of daily task.Demonstrates good positive attitude.Exhibits proactive character.Expresses respect for all coworkers.Shows commitment to department and company goals.Possesses good attention to details.Demonstrates good organizational skills.Identifies quality issues arising during manufacturing operation.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Light level of physical effort required for a variety of physical activities to include walking, standing and sitting at a workstation. He/she must be capable to lift up to 50 lbs when required. Significant level of mental / visual effort required in order to assure accuracy of information entered to the mainframe of PC software. Ability to see the letters and numbers on a PC screen and on paper documents (near vision).
