• Plan, coordinate, and follow up on corrective actions from internal audits, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), foreign material (glass, brittle plastic, wood, and ceramic), and food defense audits.
• Provide technical support to operations regarding process deviations and product specifications.
• Retain and investigate products to determine their disposition, in collaboration with the Director of Quality Assurance.
• Supervise and guide Quality Assurance team members, including managing training, scheduling, attendance, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Address and resolve conflicts among technicians
• Perform technician tasks as needed.
• Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contribute to team goals by completing related tasks as necessary.
• Promote and ensure adherence to Food Safety and Quality standards.
• Communicate identified deficiencies and improvement opportunities to both Quality Assurance and Operations Management.
• Oversee food safety and quality initiatives in the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager.
• Maintain continuity within work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
• Review documentation and conduct HACCP verification activities (including pre-shipment reviews, cook system verifications, and direct observations), as well as SSOP monitoring (pre-operational and operational).
• Support product traceability and participate in mock recall exercises, third-party inspections, and customer audits.
• Implement and manage environmental monitoring programs, ensuring weekly and monthly microbiological testing meets required standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• HAACP certification desired.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience within a USDA manufacturing facility.
• Experience applying mathematical operations including frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
• Experience overseeing food quality and safety programs.
• Experience with SSOP monitoring.
• Previous experience with microbiological testing.
